  • Gather, compile, classify, analyze, and interpret patient and operational data.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Possess a nursing license in good standing in Alabama.
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher.
  • Have at least three years of acute-care experience as a charge nurse or in a managerial or leadership role.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the point of contact for external hospitals seeking transfers into the Regional Referral Center.
  • Provide clinical expertise to guide patient-placement decisions.
  • Coordinate with transport services, admitting providers, and specialists to streamline regional referrals.
  • Oversee each patient journey and connect required services with the appropriate transfer facility.
  • Detect and address bottlenecks that hinder smooth patient transitions and timely care.
  • Communicate with regional facilities to support Regional Referral Center goals.
  • Act as a central communicator between nursing units, physicians, clinical supervisors or bed managers, and transport teams.
  • Support staff with real-time problem solving to reduce delays and improve care transitions.
  • Use the Transfer Log and daily metrics to monitor patient flow and identify process-improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee daily telehealth-service operations to ensure equipment functions properly and high-quality patient care is provided.
  • Provide technical assistance to nursing staff and physicians by troubleshooting telehealth technology and equipment issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for nursing staff, physicians, and patients by addressing concerns, providing information, and fostering trust in telehealth services.
  • Assist with virtual rounding, train staff and patients on new technologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and liaise among staff, patients, and providers.
