Requirements
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Master's degree, or a PhD is preferred in synthetic, analytical, or medicinal chemistry
  • 5+ years of industry experience eliciting and defining business requirements within the life sciences (chemistry and/or life sciences) domains
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing workflows and business processes
  • Experience with software and/or robotic hardware development
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate expertly with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Experience working in an outward facing consulting role and are very comfortable presenting in front of outside customers and key stakeholders
  • An ability to think outside current processes and make recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills: including high attention to detail and ability to lead initiatives across workstreams
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work assignments, communicate progress, and deliver on time
  • Been a bench scientist in chemistry, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or process chemistry that prefers to play a strategic business role and enjoy engaging with clients
  • Consulting experience working directly with clients to identify business and scientific gaps and the appropriate solutions
  • Hands on experience with writing stories and capturing requirements using agile methodologies
  • Experience as an administrator or super user during a LIMS or data management platform implementation
  • First-hand experience using or configuring laboratory robotics, chromatography systems, inventory management systems, compound management automation
Responsibilities
  • Act as a champion for transformation by clearly defining objectives and results for new processes for key stakeholders
  • Develop proposals with our commercial sales team, set pricing, and assist our clients with identifying justification for the automated solutions
  • Partner with our client's scientific users and strategy teams to gather scientific and business requirements so we can thoroughly understand and document existing people, processes, technologies, and gaps in their current processes
  • Synthesize and consolidate our client's business & scientific needs, translating them into functional requirements as user stories
  • Work with solution architects and engineers (hardware and software) to clearly define robotic and software solutions and prioritize them to build a solid tactical plan for upgrade and transformation
  • Present product demos for stakeholders to solicit feedback
  • Work remotely; however, may require >30% travel per year to meet with clients and stakeholders
