Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Analyze new and renewal submissions to assess exposure, loss history, financial condition, and overall risk quality.
  • Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions in accordance with company guidelines and market conditions.
  • Structure casualty programs including primary, excess, and specialty liability coverages.
  • Apply sound judgment to balance risk appetite with business development goals.
  • Manage a book of business to achieve profitability, retention, and growth targets.
  • Monitor account performance, loss trends, and industry developments to adjust underwriting strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and insureds.
  • Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and negotiate terms effectively.
  • Participate in client meetings, underwriting audits, and market presentations.
  • Work closely with actuarial, claims, risk engineering, and product teams to evaluate complex risks.
  • Contribute to product development, underwriting guidelines, and strategic initiatives.
  • Mentor junior underwriters or underwriting assistants as needed
