Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with expertise in programmable logic controllers.
  • Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness metrics, downtime analysis, and root cause analysis for improving equipment performance.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and high-voltage safety standards.
  • Proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System for work order tracking, inventory management, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work indoors and tolerate hot temperatures from ovens, close proximity to others, standing, repetitive movements, bending or twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment, including gloves, hair nets, steel-toed safety shoes or boots, and beard nets.
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, food defense, health and safety rules, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily maintenance activities and ensure efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and production systems during the assigned shift.
  • Monitor and improve equipment performance and production-floor efficiency using Overall Equipment Effectiveness and downtime analysis.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians in advanced troubleshooting, including electrical diagnostics, programmable logic controller programming, and mechanical repairs.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures or inefficiencies.
  • Perform emergency repairs and provide technical guidance on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical production equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols and high-voltage equipment procedures.
  • Allocate resources and assign tasks for work orders and preventive-maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align maintenance strategies with company priorities and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety codes and applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to track work orders, manage inventory, and document maintenance activities.
  • Manage and support the team to achieve operational success.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Approve vacation requests.
  • Conduct incident, accident, and non-conformity investigations, reporting, and action closure.
  • Issue disciplinary action when needed.
  • Manage waterlogs and perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Industrial Millwright 433A license or an Electrical License (309A or 442).
