The photo department is looking to hire a coordinator to assist with day-to-day department needs and support with the coverage of additional events. The ideal candidate will have an interest in not only baseball, but all aspects of the business of photography including editing, captioning, photo research, licensing, and rights management. Professional sports photography portfolio is not required; however, qualified candidates will have a basic understanding of photography and a comfort level operating a DSLR camera. Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
Responsibilities include:
- Photo research to support requests for MLB content and design for online and print needs throughout the year
- Assist with content management of MLB coverage including Spring Training Photo Days, Opening Day, MLB Draft, All-Star Week, Postseason, International Events, Youth Events, etc.
- Track photographer assignments (including MLB, youth, and community) and ensure freelance photographers are following MLB’s workflow
- Submit photographer invoices
- Distribute photographer rights agreements
- Support photo department with additional needs and projects as they arise
- Photograph events locally and at MLB Headquarters as needed
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $50,000 TO $65,000
