Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a state-approved Personal Care Assistant training program may be required in some states.
  • In some states, Personal Care Assistant contractors must be listed on the applicable aide registry or credential database.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required for travel to patient homes and the regional office as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide basic support with ambulation, transfers, and safe positioning.
  • Assist with meal preparation and basic nutrition reminders.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to promote a clean and safe home environment.
  • Offer companionship and engage in appropriate supportive interaction.
  • Document time worked and services rendered according to agency requirements.
  • Report observed changes in patient condition to designated agency personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality and patient dignity in accordance with HIPAA and agency standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in personal care, home health, or caregiving is strongly preferred.
