AECOM faces securities fraud investigation after $337M project loss and 98% cash flow drop

Law firm Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP has launched a securities fraud investigation into AECOM on behalf of investors. The investigation follows a sharp decline in the company's stock price after disappointing financial results. AECOM announced its second quarter fiscal 2026 results on 11 May, revealing operating cash flow had dropped 98% year over year to $4 million. The company attributed the poor performance to longer-than-anticipated claim resolution on projects bid in 2019 and 2020. AECOM's stock fell 12% following the announcement. On 10 August, the company reported third quarter results showing revenue declined 14% year over year, including a $337 million pre-tax loss from a delayed Construction Management project. Shares dropped a further 8.39%.

Aecom (NYSE: ACM) stock analysis: price target vs. Legal challenges.

Aecom (NYSE: ACM) stock analysis: price target vs. Legal challenges. Aug 12, 2026 Market News FMPAecom (NYSE: ACM) stock analysis: price target vs. Legal challenges. * UBS analyst sets a positive price target for Aecom (NYSE: ACM) stock, indicating potential upside. * The company faces a securities fraud investigation following its Q2 fiscal 2026 results. * Aecom reported a substantial quarterly loss per share, significantly missing analyst estimates due to a large pre-tax charge. Aecom (NYSE: ACM) is a global infrastructure consulting firm that designs, builds, finances, and operates infrastructure assets for governments, businesses, and organizations. A UBS analyst sets a new stock price target of $85.00 for Aecom. At the time of the report, the Aecom stock was trading at $62.75, which represents a potential increase of about 35.47%. This positive outlook contrasts with recent company challenges. As highlighted by Business Wire, The Law Offices of Frank R. Cruz announces a securities fraud investigation into Aecom. The investigation follows the company's second-quarter fiscal 2026 results and concerns possible violations of federal securities laws. Shareholders who lost money are encouraged to contact the firm. Financially, the company faces headwinds. Aecom reported a quarterly loss of $0.50 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.49 per share. This results in a negative earnings surprise of -133.56%, which means the company's actual earnings were significantly lower than what financial analysts had predicted for the quarter. A key reason for the poor results is a pre-tax charge of $337 million. This charge is mainly due to delays on a large Construction Management project. The company now expects this project to be completed near the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2027, later than the original first-quarter projection. The stock's performance reflects these issues. Shares of Aecom are trading at $62.84, a decrease of 6.28% for the day. The stock also set a new 52-week low of $62.55, which is far from its yearly high of $135.52. The company currently has a market capitalization of approximately $8.08 billion. AECOM reported third quarter fiscal 2026 results, including a $337 million pre-tax charge from a Construction Management project awarded in 2019. Building SA's future engineers: "Graduates need more than technical knowledge to succeed"

Building SA's future engineers: "Graduates need more than technical knowledge to succeed" AECOM South Africa's newly launched Graduate Development Programme is helping bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice by equipping graduates with the skills, confidence and experience needed to build successful engineering careers. 7 Aug 2026 The initiative supports emerging professionals as they transition into the consulting environment, while contributing to South Africa's need for skilled engineers, quantity surveyors, architects and infrastructure specialists. The programme complements Aecom's long-established cvandidacy programme, which continues to successfully support aspiring professionals on their journey towards professional registration. Together, the programmes create a comprehensive development pathway that supports graduates from their first day in the workplace through to becoming registered professionals and future industry leaders. Supporting the next generation. Graduate development initiatives play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice. "Graduates need more than technical knowledge to succeed in today's workplace. They also need professional confidence, communication skills, business awareness and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams," says Aecom South Africa's HR operations director serving on the executive committee, Senika Devsheel. Aecom's commitment to talent development extends far beyond its graduate development programme. Through bursaries, the Aecom Educational Trust, educational assistance, continuous learning opportunities and the candidacy programme, the company supports individuals throughout their professional journeys. "Collectively, these initiatives reflect our belief that investing in people is one of the most meaningful ways we can contribute to addressing South Africa's skills shortage while building a sustainable pipeline of future professionals," comments Devsheel. Built for long-term success. While the Graduate Development Programme focuses on helping graduates successfully transition into the workplace, the candidacy programme provides the structured technical experience, mentoring and guidance required for professional registration. The distinction is intentional. The Graduate Development Programme develops professional behaviours, communication, collaboration, commercial awareness and broader business skills, while introducing graduates to Aecom's culture and multidisciplinary way of working. The candidacy programme then builds on this foundation by supporting graduates as they work towards registration with their respective professional bodies. This integrated approach ensures graduates develop not only the technical competence required for their professions, but also the leadership and interpersonal skills needed to succeed as consultants and future leaders. Real-world experience. For Jesse Plaatjes, a candidate mechanical engineer based in Durban, the programme has transformed the transition from university into professional practice. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University in the United States, Plaatjes joined Aecom seeking an environment where he could learn from experienced professionals while working on meaningful projects. "The Graduate Development Programme has allowed me to integrate my theoretical knowledge with actual projects under the guidance of an experienced team," says Plaatjes. Exposure to complex data-centre projects and the opportunity to contribute to a fire engineering project have expanded both his technical knowledge and confidence. "I have never felt out of my depth because my team is committed to my development and always provides the support and guidance I need. Through their mentorship, I have grown exponentially in just a few short months," says Plaatjes. Growing through collaboration. For Chulekazi Kalipa, a candidate quantity surveyor specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire (MEPF), the programme's collaborative environment has been equally valuable. Having completed both her BSc in Construction Studies and BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying at the University of the Witwatersrand, she says beginning her career alongside fellow graduates created an invaluable support network. "Having a peer network makes the adjustment much smoother because we learn from one another, share experiences and grow together while experiencing many career milestones for the first time," says Kalipa. Working on complex international infrastructure projects has accelerated her development, while experienced colleagues have helped build her confidence. "Their willingness to share knowledge and provide constructive feedback has given me the confidence to think creatively, take initiative and continuously develop my skills," says Kalipa. Investing in SA's future. For Aecom, success is measured not only by the infrastructure it helps deliver, but by the people it develops. The company's ambition is to build a sustainable pipeline of future talent that strengthens both the organisation and South Africa's broader engineering and infrastructure sector. By investing in education, graduate development, professional registration and continuous learning, Aecom aims to create opportunities for talented young South Africans while helping address the country's critical skills shortage. As International Youth Day highlights the importance of empowering young people, initiatives such as Aecom's Graduate Development Programme demonstrate how long-term investment in talent can benefit individuals, businesses and communities alike. For graduates like Plaatjes and Kalipa, the programme represents more than a first job. It is the beginning of careers built on learning, mentorship, collaboration and the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to South Africa's future infrastructure.
