- Provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force in project and program management efforts associated with specific test needs at the Arnold Engineering Development Center.
- Provide procurement support, contract administration assistance, and records management and administrative support for planning and executing projects.
- Document project scope, objectives, key performance parameters, and key system attributes.
- Apply knowledge of project phases, including initiation, planning, design, execution, and closeout.
- Prepare and deliver monthly project review briefings to the Air Force customer.
- Work with finance to develop project spend plans.
- Hold weekly or bi-weekly project update meetings.
- Advise the Air Force on project disconnects, risks, opportunities, and overall progress.
- Define and document project requirements and deliverables through direct stakeholder engagement.
- Manage complex projects of all sizes.
- Apply project acquisition strategy knowledge and manage key program events, including decision points, reviews, contract awards, and Contract Line-Item Number structure.
- Follow a structured systems engineering approach to facilitate project milestone reviews, including Integrated Baseline Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Verification Readiness Review, Factory Acceptance Tests, Functional Configuration Audit, and Physical Configuration Audit.
- Assess contractor documentation against project requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and stored in the proper repository.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Develop contingency plans to minimize risks and keep projects on track.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution across all locations.
- Mentor, lead, and train junior project managers on the team.
- PMP certification.

Daniel joined Canvas as Director of Strategic Planning and has since advanced into executive leadership, bringing extensive experience in strategic growth, capture, and customer engagement across the defense and national security community. As Vice President of Business Development, he will lead Canvas' growth strategy and customer engagement efforts, working across the organization to align emerging mission needs with the company's capabilities in test and evaluation, engineering, digital modernization, software, and mission systems. Prior to joining Canvas, Daniel held business development leadership roles at QuantiTech and Axient, where he most recently served as Director of IDIQ/GWACs. Throughout his career, he has focused on developing growth strategies, building trusted customer and industry relationships, and positioning technical capabilities against evolving Department of Defense priorities. Daniel earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Management Information Systems and Marketing from the University of Alabama.
