Requirements
  • Education: Master’s degree for Physician’s Assistant
  • Experience: 3 years as a Physician’s Assistant
  • National and valid State of Wyoming certification as a Physician’s Assistant or the ability to successfully attain authorization within 30 days of University employment.
  • Prescriptive authority in the State of Wyoming
  • Licensure by the Wyoming Board of Medicine
  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience: 1-3 years nurse practitioner experience
  • Valid State of Wyoming authorization as a Nurse Practitioner or the ability to successfully attain authorization within 30 days of University employment.
  • Prescriptive authority in the State of Wyoming
  • National certification in degree specialty
  • Either position: Valid BLS certification (basic life support).
Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of patients via oral histories and physical examinations; initiate treatment under collaborative agreement with physician and standing orders.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, order and perform lab, radiological and special exams or tests required for evaluation; dispense/administer medications, application of dressings and remove sutures and bandages.
  • Administer and monitor intravenous (IV’s procedures).
  • Perform minor medical procedures and provide routine follow up care.
  • Provide health care information and advice on health, preventative care and disease to patients and others.
  • Provide first-aid or emergency care; may coordinate patient health and social services care with outside agencies.
  • Administer immunizations and complete and maintain electronic health records.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of best standards of practice, including State and Federal laws and regulations that apply to the provision of health care and local and national trends related to college health.
  • Knowledge of holistic preventative health principles.
  • Primary care principles and practices to include clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA, FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IX, OSHA, and federal sexual assault regulations.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
