- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Five to eight years of progressive accounting experience is required.
- One to three years of experience in a senior accounting, accounting manager, or assistant controller-level role is required.
- Strong knowledge of United States generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls is required.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities are required.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and a desire to grow into a Controller role are required.
- Support the Controller in managing daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Help maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Support the development and standardization of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders.
- Coordinate audit preparation and support external auditors during financial reviews.
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for tax compliance and reporting.
- Monitor cash flow activities and assist with banking transactions and account management.
- Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and insights to support leadership decision-making.
- Help implement and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and accounting processes.
- Produce reports, dashboards, and performance analyses for executive leadership.
- Support special projects, cost initiatives, and return on investment analysis efforts as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping build a high-performing team environment.
- CPA certification or CPA eligibility is preferred.
