Amentum is currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer in support of Electro-Optic and Infrared (EO/IR) Technologies for the United States Navy. You will provide systems engineering in support of Maritime EO/IR technology and integration of the next generation of Maritime EO/IR solutions for systems, such as lasers, visual augmentation systems, multi-sensor EO/IR targeting systems, weapon sights, beacons, sensors, displays, and peripherals for various shipboard gun weapon systems and situational awareness systems. Projects could include assessing and addressing technology gaps, developing improvements to leading edge Maritime EO/IR technology, and enhancing and sustaining capabilities to keep pace with continually emerging and evolving Maritime threats.
Essential Functions:
- Lead design and development efforts for the integration and technology insertion of EO/IR sensor technologies in a maritime environment.
- Develop documentation related to system requirements, validation of system reliability, and test and evaluation of systems.
- Provide technical leadership in a collaborative, multi–disciplinary team environment.
- Provide expert technical advice for life-cycle considerations in US Navy maintenance and logistical procedures for systems.
- Acts as and is recognized as a Company/industry expert resource on complex technical problems.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Degree.
- Minimum of 10 to 12 years of systems engineering work experience or related.
- Experience providing technical leadership and guidance to a team is required.
- Knowledge of the systems engineering processes, including working knowledge of Department of Defense computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance before hire.
- Up to 20% travel may be required, including shipboard travel.
Preferred:
- An active Secret security clearance.
