Requirements
  • Current ARRT in Radiography
  • New graduates – Obtain ARRT Registry within the first year
  • Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
  • Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to assigned modality
  • Tech I – ARRT in one modality (i.e., ARRT general radiography)
  • Tech II – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in two modalities/ARDMS categories
  • Tech III – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in three modalities
  • Tech IV – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in four modalities
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Travel may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites
  • Live within or willing to relocate to Southeast Alaska (implied by job context)

Responsibilities
  • Provide radiographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation and exercise professional judgment in performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection
  • Perform diagnostic medical radiography within department and other areas
  • Maintain patient records and files
  • Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program
  • Pursue continuing education
  • Transfer patient to and from radiology
  • Rotate shifts as required
  • Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor
  • Follow policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration
  • Assist in general hygiene of department and self
  • Work well in situations of stress
  • Be willing to take call and report to work within 20 minutes
  • Be willing to learn other imaging modalities as Manager sees fit
  • Be able to perform duties in two fields of imaging and willing to work outside of modality, i.e., XR, MRI, CT, Mammography
  • Maintain competency in ancillary modality
  • Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned
  • CT/INTERVENTIONAL responsibilities include care of equipment, record maintenance, assist with invasive procedures, prepare procedures, consult with referring physicians, venipuncture, follow standard precautions, modify protocols for pediatric/adolescent/geriatric patients, adjust contrast levels by age, operate injector, knowledge of contraindications of contrast, tele-radiology transmission, sterile technique, assist in supply inventory, Daily/Weekly quality control
