  • MD or MD/Ph.D. with a strong background in human genetics or genetic epidemiology
  • Training and experience in translational human genetics, genetic epidemiology (or related fields)
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Familiarity with applications of statistical genetics including polygenic scores, quantitative traits analyses, rare variant analyses (e.g. burden tests), GWAS and Mendelian randomization
  • Familiarity with command-line interface, programming languages, and statistical software (e.g. R, Python)
Responsibilities
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, bioinformaticians, statistical geneticists, physician-scientists, and other members to design, implement and interpret large-scale human genetics studies
  • Mining and interpreting genetic association results to identify causal genes and variants, and to prioritize candidate drug targets
  • Generating, summarizing, and communicating results in meetings to various audiences; leading or contributing to the writing of scientific reports and publications
  • Working with colleagues in clinical development to apply genetic data and insights to the design, conduct or interpretation of clinical research activities
  • Using clinical experience and medical knowledge to define high-quality and refined phenotypes for genetic discovery and target validation
  • Representing the TAG team in cross-functional initiatives within RGC and Regeneron
  • Collaborating with industry and academic partners in collaborations of strategic interest to the RGC
  • Preparing tables, figures, written reports, and results summaries; Drafting portions of scientific manuscripts, internal reports, and patent applications

  • Previous experience with phenotypes related to these diseases
  • A demonstrated ability to design and lead human genetics studies delivering medically relevant findings in a team-based environment
  • Outstanding communication skills and an ability to summarize and present the results of human genetic studies to a variety of audiences
