This is an unpaid, remote-first internship based out of our Berkeley, CA office.

At Glyphic Biotechnologies, we plan to create the protein revolution for which scientists and researchers have been waiting. We are developing a massively parallel, single-molecule protein sequencing platform that will transform proteomics and usher in a new era of insights into human biology and disease. To date, we have raised >$16M from venture partners and grant funding to achieve our vision of next generation protein sequencing.

What we are looking for in you

We are seeking a Market Development intern to support Glyphic Bio’s development of a next-generation protein sequencing platform. As part of the Product Development team, you will continually assess the dynamic landscape of protein sequencing through the collection and synthesis of publicly available materials (e.g., publications, press releases, market reports, etc.). This work is an essential part of our ongoing market research efforts. We value exceptional communication and organization habits, and candidates with a tendency toward systems thinking. Previous experience with life sciences is essential, and working experience with protein sequencing or identification tools is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for advanced degree candidates (e.g., MBA) to perform impactful market research and gain experience in a fast-paced startup ecosystem.

What you will be doing

• Survey and monitor proteomics, genomics, and protein/DNA sequencing market.

• Conduct competitor analysis on market development and company strategies.

• Investigate emerging technologies related to proteomics and protein/DNA sequencing.

• Support ongoing assessments of consumer opinions and identify consumer trends.

• Perform diligence on potential vendors/partners to support market research.

• Provide analytic reports and presentations for the executive team to support company roadmap, product development, and marketing strategy.

What you should have

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.A.) in business, economics, market research, or related field (desired but not required).

• Knowledge of marketing strategies and willingness to learn assimilate new tools/systems

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to translate complex research into common language.

• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

• Familiarity with life science research and/or medical device industry.

• Ability to quickly synthesize new information.

• Organization and time management skills.

• Motivation and commitment to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Slack, Notion, Miro, AirTable, or other workplace productivity tools
