JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Science (https://science.psu.edu/bio) at The Pennsylvania State University seeks applicants working at the forefront of neuroscience for an open rank tenure ­track faculty position in Neurobiology. Expertise in cutting-edge technologies within the fields of cellular and molecular neuroscience is essential. The successful applicant is expected to develop an independent, interdisciplinary, externally funded research program leading to novel insights into function of the nervous system at the level of cells, circuits and behavior.

Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a Ph.D. in Neurobiology or related fields and postdoctoral experience, applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level should also have a leading presence within the field and a strong record of independent extramural funding. The successful applicant will integrate into a broad-based neuroscience research community that spans several departments and colleges and will contribute to the Department of Biology’s teaching mission.
