  • Startup or small, high-growth company experience strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in Payroll operationsExperience with HRIS systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing best in class internal customer service
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions and other changes to pay rates, and bonus payouts
  • Executes on all required state tax filings and reporting
  • Prepare reporting for People and Finance teams and Equip leadership, including but not limited to monthly and annual staffing metrics, turnover rates, and other people related analytics
  • Role will initially have no direct reports, but will eventually oversee staff as the team grows
  • Research and respond to questions that arise from employees or leadership in a diligent and timely manner
  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally across the organization
