Requirements
- High attention to detail, highly organized, and results-driven
- Able to seamlessly manage multiple competing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Human Resources or equivalent on the job experience
- Startup or small, high-growth company experience strongly preferred
- 4+ years of experience in Payroll operationsExperience with HRIS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing best in class internal customer service
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions and other changes to pay rates, and bonus payouts
- Executes on all required state tax filings and reporting
- Prepare reporting for People and Finance teams and Equip leadership, including but not limited to monthly and annual staffing metrics, turnover rates, and other people related analytics
- Role will initially have no direct reports, but will eventually oversee staff as the team grows
- Research and respond to questions that arise from employees or leadership in a diligent and timely manner
- Work collaboratively and cross functionally across the organization
