Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, specifically Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, or a related field, is required.
  • For grade M08, at least 6 years of progressive analytical experience and 3 or more years of project management experience are required.
  • For grade M09, at least 8 years of progressive analytical experience and 3 or more years of project management experience are required.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • Current United States citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must wear personal protective equipment in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineering projects from planning through delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against timelines and financial constraints.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring designs, specifications, and deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance teams to support project execution.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, develop contingency plans, and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and provide communication and reporting.
  • Conduct project status meetings and reviews, and prepare and present progress reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including plans, reports, and records.
  • Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the project team.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project skills.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Understanding of the systems engineering process, including requirements management, system design, and integration.
  • Proficiency in project management, including developing and managing schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Familiarity with preparing project estimates.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures.
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Principles.
  • A background in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • An active Secret clearance.
