Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a related engineering role
  • Large scale industrial processing experience
  • Operational support and track record of solving difficult chemical and metallurgical process problems
  • Testwork and pilot plant design and operating experience
  • Process modelling (HSCSIM, SysCAD, METSIM) and equipment sizing
  • Trade-off studies and financial evaluation
  • Process plant design and commissioning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place
Responsibilities
  • Linking R&D with the development of commercial scale equipment and processes
  • Identifying and driving R&D to meet the short-term needs of the business and address future trends within the process
  • Conducting statistical reviews of DOE results
  • Setting up DOE's to test new additives
  • Leading and participating in research and development to meet strategic objectives
  • Process plant review, implementation, and commissioning
  • Flowsheet trade-off evaluations and studies
  • Provide process parameters to design team
  • Flowsheet conceptualization and development
  • Leading and participating in cross-functional teams to develop and implement new process plant and equipment
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable processes
  • Leading safety investigations linked to design
  • Keeping up to date with maintenance issues to ensure correct equipment
  • Reviewing process headaches and looking for improvements
  • Reviewing process data to ensure system stability
