Requirements
  • Have at least one year of experience in financial institution sales and service, customer service, sales, or retail banking.
  • Have demonstrated lending experience and knowledge of consumer loan products and services.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Be able to multitask and build relationships in a sales environment.
  • Have demonstrated experience with office management software and tools such as Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Be knowledgeable about the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, USA PATRIOT Act, Regulation CC and funds availability, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and member financial privacy, National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, and Truth in Savings.
  • Pass a pre-employment background and credit check.
Responsibilities
  • Meet established performance standards, service standards, and sales goals.
  • Develop and deepen member relationships by providing consultative service that identifies member needs and matches them with value-added products and services.
  • Use active, reflective, and empathic listening to triage member calls, assess member needs, and apply the proper protocol effectively and promptly.
  • Process member transactions and inquiries through the telephone channel, including deposits and withdrawals, loan payments, new account applications, lending applications, and related documentation.
  • Use credit scoring, sound lending practices, and judgment to make lending recommendations or decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures relating to products and services.
  • Act occasionally as a backup Member Relationship Specialist at other locations or branches.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of customer service, sales, or retail banking experience, or experience at a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of job-related regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation E, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
