Requirements
  • Experience with teaching or tutoring.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and practices such as development of learning contracts, collaborative learning, and active learning strategies.
  • Ability to assess individual and group learning needs and explain concepts in different ways.
  • Experience working with a diversity of learning styles.
  • Comfort using technology to facilitate learning.
  • One to three years of experience in the field as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is required.
  • A completed Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the discipline in which the employee is engaged as an Assistant Instructor for graduate courses is required.
  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Must arrange an appropriate, safe, distraction-free home office with high-speed internet, a printer, and a dedicated business phone line.
  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Responsibilities
  • Build an online community conducive to learning and continuous improvement in a positive, learner-focused environment.
  • Use text, video, and other technologies to create learning resources that drive learner engagement and assist learners with course content and skill development.
  • Lead and comment in courseroom discussions with learners.
  • Plan and facilitate optional weekly interactive, collaborative study and review sessions combining course content with study strategies.
  • Assess learning and comprehension through evaluation of course competencies, including informal assessments or formal evaluations using rubrics for discussions and assignments.
  • Keep up to date with essential technologies, including Civitas, Outlook, and Kaltura.
  • Maintain adequate learner records.
  • Check into the courseroom on weekends.
  • Attend training, team meetings, and learner appointments during some regular business hours.
  • Effectively communicate throughout the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Access information using a computer.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of teaching experience at the graduate level in an online environment is preferred.
  • Enrollment in a Doctoral program or a completed Doctorate is preferred.
