Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Two years of experience as a licensed nurse is required.
  • One year of experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting is required.
  • One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing, or 24 hours of continuing education certificates in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing, is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association is required.
  • A current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within California is required.
  • Director of Staff Development certification is required within 180 days of hire or transfer into the position.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead comprehensive training programs that ensure staff competency, promote regulatory compliance, and elevate resident care.
  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, as well as ongoing clinical education for nursing and support staff.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs, evaluate performance, and implement development plans.
  • Maintain accurate training records and assist with policy implementation to support adherence to internal, state, and federal standards.
