Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form is required.
  • The ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure is required.
  • The ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines is required.
  • The position requires compliance with patient confidentiality, patient safety, hand hygiene, infection control, and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform ocular diagnostic testing, including color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, optical coherence tomography, automated perimetry, slit lamp photography, external photography, and ocular motility photography.
  • Perform supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments, document procedures, and upload images into the electronic medical record and picture archiving and communication system platform.
  • Provide patient-centric care.
  • Adhere to University of Miami policies, standards, and values.
  • Complete mandatory in-services and online training.
  • Attend educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain high-quality work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.
  • Meet daily productivity goals.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.
  • Organize and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.
  • Travel to satellite eye centers when necessary.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Perform organizational duties as assigned.
