  • A doctorate degree in a counseling-related field is required.
  • Appropriate certification and/or licensure may be required to teach some courses.

  • The ability to integrate personal faith in Christ and related topics with classroom learning is required.

  • Candidates must be committed followers of Jesus Christ and be able to communicate their personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace.
  • Candidates must regularly attend and meaningfully participate in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
  • Provide instruction, assess student learning outcomes, and participate in program evaluation.
  • Follow CCU course policies and established faculty guidelines and manuals.
  • Communicate with students and assigned academic teaching assistants in a timely manner using learning technology.
  • Integrate Christian faith and learning in all courses.
  • Adhere to professional standards established by state governing bodies and the ACA Code of Ethics.
  • Use Brightspace and other technological resources to enhance student learning and collaborate with CAGS Faculty Development on instructional resources.
  • Teach and lead course content and activities, utilizing assigned academic teaching assistants.
  • Access the Brightspace course shell one month before the course begins and prepare the course according to faculty expectations.
  • Complete grading according to provided rubrics, faculty guidelines, and the CAGS Faculty Manual, including submitting final grades and collaborating with academic teaching assistants on preliminary grading.
  • Communicate promptly with appropriate parties when difficulties arise.
  • Complete the required faculty-development badge training to remain in the teaching pool.
Desired Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of successful higher education teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and effective teaching and learning in various formats is preferred.
