  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for implementing Individualized Education Programs, health plans, and behavior protocols with high fidelity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and respond to complex and challenging student behaviors.
  • Willingness and ability to assist students with personal care, toileting, and mobility, including lifting and transferring with appropriate training and assistance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 40 to 70 pounds and perform frequent sitting, with occasional bending, squatting, or standing.
Responsibilities
  • Implement all aspects of one student's Individualized Education Program, Behavior Intervention Plan, and Health Care Plan.
  • Maintain line of sight or close proximity with the student at all times to ensure immediate response to safety or health needs.
  • Provide personal care assistance, including feeding, toileting, hygiene, dressing, and positioning, in a dignified and professional manner.
  • Implement the student's Health Care Plan, including delegated nursing tasks such as medication administration, seizure protocol implementation, and monitoring medical equipment after required training.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Implement academic accommodations and modifications specified in the student's current Individualized Education Program.
  • Provide direct 1:1 support in general education classrooms, special education settings, and non-instructional environments such as lunch, recess, assemblies, and field trips.
  • Execute the student's Behavior Intervention Plan and crisis management strategies across instructional, transition, and unstructured settings.
  • Facilitate peer interaction and social skills development by modeling appropriate social behaviors and supporting participation in group activities.
  • Physically assist the student with transitions between classes, activities, and locations within the school building and community.
  • Collect and accurately record data on academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals, and report progress to the Special Education Teacher daily or weekly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
