Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Three to five years of fleet management experience in the equipment rental industry is required.
  • Proficiency in analyzing key rental-fleet metrics, including time utilization and Cap Factor, and in analyzing large complex data sets, building action plans, and making decisions or suggestions is required.
  • The ability to educate and influence team members to implement solutions is required.
  • The ability to identify unsafe practices and help make situations safe is required.
  • The ability to build confidence with team members to improve rental fleet utilization and overall profitability is required.
  • An understanding of an entrepreneurial environment and the challenges of centralized fleet control is required.
  • Willingness to travel 10%-20% is required.
  • Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Power BI is required.
  • Process orientation, multitasking ability, and the ability to work within short timelines are required.
  • The ability to interact with all levels of management and work independently is required.
  • The ability to bend, squat, crouch, and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Foster a positive work environment within the branches by encouraging accountability, open communication, teamwork, and commitment to customer service.
  • Implement standard fleet-utilization metrics and decision frameworks to drive and measure asset efficiency.
  • Drive profitability through effective fleet utilization within the region.
  • Coordinate the movement and positioning of fleet between locations to increase profitable utilization while preserving ownership.
  • Lead the selection and approval of rental-equipment profiles for the region.
  • Analyze time utilization, Cap Factor, and rate achievement with Operational Management to justify fleet needs.
  • Review capital-equipment requisitions to validate need and determine whether to transfer, purchase, or re-rent fleet.
  • Work with operations teams to understand current and future customer expectations and ensure the rental fleet meets customer needs.
  • Provide high-level support to field operational teams and respond effectively to operational priorities.
  • Implement continual-improvement processes and activities across the region.
  • Promote accountability by ensuring company assets and resources are maintained.
  • Coordinate regional strategies for the disposal and refurbishment of applicable equipment with Regional Managers.
  • Suggest stocking orders to meet company goals based on specific PC performance.
  • Assist PC locations with retail-equipment orders by verifying specifications, quotes, and retail sales pricing.
  • Coordinate with Regional and District Management to include or exclude specific items from their offerings of stock-keeping units and provide information to the Support Office Fleet Department.
  • Help ensure rental inventory is properly maintained and readily available to rent.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Rental Counter Systems, including data architecture.
  • Experience working in the equipment rental industry.
