Requirements

Undergraduate or Graduate Student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration
Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN
Familiarity with network equipment and tools including routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring software
Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Unix and Windows
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot networking issues
Good communication skills
Desire to learn and expand knowledge in the field of network administration
Hands-on experience in configuring network equipment and devices
Ability to lift 30-pound equipment

Responsibilities

Setting up and configuring network equipment and devices
Monitoring network performance and addressing issues
Assisting in the maintenance and security of network infrastructure
Collaborating with team members to support network operations
Conducting network tests and diagnostic procedures
Documenting network configurations and troubleshooting steps
Learning new technologies and networking concepts under the guidance of senior network administrators

About the Role:

Aviatrix is searching for Network Administrator lab technician intern; you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting network systems within a laboratory environment.

Location: On-Site Aviatrix Santa Clara, CA office for 6 months

Internship: 6-8 month Internship full time Summer Internship starting in May 2024 – Dec 2024; the hours will decrease in the Fall 2024 to 10 hours.

Responsibilities:

Setting up and configuring network equipment and devices
Monitoring network performance and addressing issues as they arise.
Assisting in the maintenance and security of network infrastructure
Collaborating with team members to support network operations.
Conducting network tests and diagnostic procedures
Documenting network configurations and troubleshooting steps.
Learning new technologies and networking concepts under the guidance of senior network administrators

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Graduate Student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration
Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN
Familiarity with network equipment and tools including routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring software.
Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Unix and Windows
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot networking issues

Desire to learn and expand my knowledge in the field of network administration.
Hands on experience in configuring network equipment and devices
Must be able to lift 30-pound equipment.

This position pays $25HRLY - $30HRLY
