Funko beats Q2 estimates with $208M revenue, raises full-year EBITDA guidance to $105M

Funko reported strong second-quarter results, with revenue of $207.7 million, beating analyst estimates of $200.2 million and marking 7.4% year-on-year growth. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.26, significantly ahead of the anticipated -$0.19. Adjusted EBITDA reached $40.9 million with a 19.7% margin, far exceeding the $7.60 million forecast. CEO Josh Simon attributed the performance to the company's "make culture pop" strategy and broad-based growth across geographies and product categories. European sales grew nearly 20%. During the earnings call, analysts questioned management about wholesale order demand, retail shelf space, franchise performance, and new product formats. CFO Yves Le Pendeven noted healthy inventory levels and strong point-of-sale trends, whilst flagging potential pressure from tariffs and freight costs. Full-year EBITDA guidance stands at $105 million, above analyst expectations of $77.6 million.

Reichert, who is based in Miami, was previously chief compliance and risk officer for the blockchain company Paxos. Funko posts record 44% gross margin, raises profit guidance to $110M

Funko Inc reported strong Q2 2026 results with net sales up 7% and gross margin reaching a record 44.4% (normalised for tariff credit), significantly higher than the prior year's 32.1%. Adjusted EBITDA improved to $40.9 million, exceeding guidance. Core collectibles grew 9%, whilst Loungefly sales declined 2% but showed improvement from Q1, aided by 50% fewer SKUs. Point-of-sale trends remained robust, with wholesale POS up 6% in Q2 and European POS up over 20%. The company raised its adjusted EBITDA guidance to $100-110 million for the year. Management used $15 million from tariff claim proceeds to reduce debt. New initiatives including Pop Mystery and Bitty Pop are expected to expand growth platforms. Funko maintains 3-4 months visibility on wholesale orders and cited a strong upcoming entertainment slate as a growth driver. However, tariffs and uncertain consumer demand pose potential risks to margins and holiday performance.
