- A Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification, with at least 5 years of experience.
- Previous experience with application administration, technical end-user support, and change management.
- Understanding of three-tier commercial off-the-shelf applications, internally developed software, Oracle and SQL Server databases, Windows application server tiers, and web-based client tiers.
- Familiarity with software life-cycle development methodologies.
- Previous experience writing and executing custom SQL queries against an Oracle or SQL Server database.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, technical analysis, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work with teams, individuals, and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve application problems.
- Ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments, and maintain attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Experience and leadership skills to identify systemic problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance if needed.
- Administer commercial off-the-shelf and internally developed Windows applications with Oracle or SQL Server back ends.
- Provide general support for Windows servers and Internet Information Services.
- Provide technical end-user support for applications.
- Use ClearCase, Remedy, and Jira to track problems and resolutions.
- Manage, test, and deploy new software and patches.
- Support environments for user acceptance and regression testing.
- Support business analysts with report creation.
- Investigate and report application business and system problems, and analyze and track the progress and resolutions.
- Research, analyze, and document technical alternatives.
- Participate in technical peer reviews.
- Document configuration settings and technical processes.
- Lead technical upgrades of small applications and databases.
- Apply standard information technology principles, concepts, practices, and techniques.
- Experience developing procedures for SQL Server or Oracle.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware and WebLogic.
- Previous development experience with C#.
- Previous report-writing experience with SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal Reports.
