Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience at a financial services firm, government organization, trade association or consulting group

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an on-the-record media spokesperson
  • Help develop and execute proactive public affairs strategies across a variety of issues impacting business, the economy and the financial services industry
  • Oversee and directly advise senior executives on communications for a portfolio of groups within the firm, including the Office of Government and Regulatory Affairs and the Office of Corporate Engagement, which manages the firm’s philanthropic strategy
  • Develop messaging strategies and execute on deliverables including talking points, executive briefings and statements
  • Stay one step ahead of the policy-making environment to advise senior executives and the firm’s clients on potential public affairs matters or reputational issues
  • Maintain relationships with editors and reporters to best position the firm and priority issues
  • Advise and work with vendors and internal staff to execute advocacy campaigns on behalf of the firm’s 10,000 Small Business Voices initiative
  • Serve as a proactive advisor to trade associations, non-profit stakeholders and public affairs agencies who work on behalf of the firm and the broader industry
  • Work with industry colleagues on public policy campaign initiatives
  • Contribute to media monitoring, analysis and reporting to provide timely updates and insights to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with other Executive Office functions to handle corporate issues for the firm in a holistic manner
