Requirements
  • Must hold an active Licensed Practical Nurse license issued in the state of Maryland.
  • Must possess a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation license.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication with all personnel, residents, and families.
  • Must be willing to assist where needed.
Responsibilities
  • Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, assist in care planning and treatments for residents and consult with other nursing staff as appropriate by applying knowledge and resources.
  • Demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills required to care for the resident population on an assigned unit.
  • Review resident medical records to ensure nursing practice provided is within state and federal guidelines.
  • Document care provided and report changes in resident status to the shift supervisor.
  • Review all referrals for consultation, treatment, or resolution of problems to ensure they are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
  • Seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of responsibilities to maintain competency levels.
  • Set and implement goals and policies consistent with the philosophy and purpose of the nursing facility.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of nursing experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience caring for residents in an acute or long-term health care facility is a plus.
