Requirements
  • Minimum of three years as a marine coordinator on an onshore/offshore installation either floating or fixed, marine hydrocarbon terminal operation, or an LNG carrier tanker.
  • A high level of computer ability skills is essential.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Must have strong operational knowledge of the facility and equipment and be able to relate with associated construction and maintenance activities taking place in the entire complex.
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with company and contract personnel and possess knowledge to clearly understand hazards associated with work performed.
Responsibilities
  • Must be familiar with standard international LNG carrier ship equipment & operations as it pertains to spray pumps, cargo pumps, high & low duty compressors, gas heaters, LNG & forcing vaporizers, nitrogen generator, inert gas & dry air systems, gassing up & cooling down cargo tanks, NCOE (USCG National Center of Expertise).
  • Must understand and be familiar the regulatory requirements of 33CFR 127 including USCG Operations & Emergency Manual and Marine Operating Manual.
  • Marine Coordinator (PIC’s) will ensure all marine work is being performed with the use and control of the CPLNG PTW work system.
  • Will performs onsite audits of work taking place to ensure compliance with PTW and all applicable policies, procedures and regulations are being enforced. PIC’s will close all work permits and ensures appropriate documentation is properly filed.
  • Must keep Marine Supervisor advised of any safety, environmental, regulatory compliance, or other operational issues.
  • Will maintain PIC (Persons-In-Charge of loading) status to include the usage of all forms and instructions during ship operations. These will include and not limited to; pre/post loading agenda, DoS (safety & security), cargo loading plan, ship/shore safety, NOR, cargo manifest, certificate of origin, quality, quantity, document receipts, marine GC calibration & verification, etc.
  • Must be familiar with small vessel operations e.g., tugs, pilot vessels, production plant operations, marine terminal operations, hydrocarbon liquid operations.
  • Work communicates with surveyors for all product specification issues and understand automatic sampling system.
  • Must know & understand battery limit process streams, BOG system, ESD valve locations & PSV systems.
  • Must be able to explain the LNG storage tanking system & pumps, hydraulic ESD valves, connecting & disconnecting and cool-down loading arm operation (liquid & vapor), jetty operations, ship gangway, mooring system. Loading arm clearing and vapor return system.
  • The Marine Coordination as the PIC must be familiar with berthing thresholds based on environmental, regulatory, and pre-determined operating criteria for LNG carrier approach, mooring and LNG loading.
  • Works with Operations, Maintenance, Lab, and other departments & disciplines for input into all marine activities that could impact operations at the jetties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ten years working experience in Operations with LNG or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids and associated systems.
  • PTEC degree with a marine coordinator PIC qualification.
  • Prior experience as a marine coordinator is preferred.
