Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy.
  • At least two years of experience in health care and at least two years of experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or equivalent license in the practicing state.
  • A substance abuse specialty authorization applicable to the state of hire is required for programs requiring substance use credentialing.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and techniques for all age groups, including the dynamics of human growth and behavior.
  • American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification is required within 30 days of hire, with biannual recertification.
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient through NCI is required within 60 days of hire, with annual recertification.
  • Completion of all mandatory in-services and educational requirements related to the program or unit license regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to provide oversight and resources for clinical staff.
  • Oversee effective planning and patient care from admission to discharge by staff.
  • Ensure all staff scheduling and coverage needs are met.
  • Establish goals consistent with job duties, program requirements, and the system's mission with the Director or Manager of Operations.
  • Communicate goals to staff and evaluate and report progress to the Director or Manager of Operations.
  • Participate in staff evaluations.
  • Participate in workload completion and accept patient assignments.
  • Address employee-related issues with the Director or Manager of Operations.
  • Assist employees in professional growth.
  • Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings and provide timely communication and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing organized, regular oversight of staff.
  • Follow cases to provide feedback that improves the quality of care delivered by staff.
  • Participate in orientation and supervision of new staff and student interns, tracking supervision content and improvement goals.
  • Accept patient assignments and requests for coverage.
  • Provide group, individual, and family therapy as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary staffing and discuss each patient's progress.
  • Conduct medical record audits to identify deficiencies and improve quality and consistency of care.
  • Resolve deficiencies in medical record documentation, assessments, and required forms immediately.
  • Audit 20% of charts based on the daily census for all programs, record results, and recommend improvements for errors or quality trends.
  • Provide feedback, education, and observations to staff and the Director or Manager of Operations and Clinical Director or Supervisor.
  • Assist in conducting comprehensive and fair interviews that support timely recruitment decisions.
  • Participate in system marketing and outreach activities, including customer feedback, outreach visits, educational talks, and community events.
  • Use direct communication and active listening to promote a respectful team environment.
  • Support organizational change and consider others' ideas and points of view.
  • Use emotional intelligence to communicate, lead, and develop leaders and staff.
  • Evaluate employees objectively and provide periodic coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure team members follow Rogers policies and procedures.
  • Promote department goals and Rogers' mission.
  • Maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Educate new staff regarding applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Resolve peer issues in a positive, solution-focused manner.
  • Collaborate with human resources on conflict resolution and investigations.
  • Understand variances and their impact on the department budget.
  • Provide leadership guidance and influence across Rogers departments.
  • Incorporate requirements and guidelines from external agencies, including the Joint Commission and the State of Wisconsin.
  • Participate in Rogers committees, performance improvement team meetings, and team projects.
  • Maintain punctuality, preparedness, effective communication, organizational skills, and timely task completion.
  • Communicate professionally, provide solutions to concerns, and maintain professional attire.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in health care and at least two years in a psychiatric setting, as stated as preferred in the education and training requirements.
  • A SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC substance use credential in Wisconsin, when working in a program requiring substance use credentialing.
  • Duties involving cognitive behavioral therapies in addition to social services.
