Requirements
  • A high school education or equivalent is required.
  • Colorado First Aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift between five and fifty pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for ninety minutes.
  • Ability to run short distances.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, walk, stand, kneel, crawl, squat, reach, and sit.
Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with classroom assignments to support the instructional process.
  • Report observations and incidents relating to specific students, including accidents, fights, social behavior, rule violations, and safety conditions, to appropriate instructional or administrative personnel.
  • Perform general clerical tasks to assist teachers with instructional materials.
  • Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments to practice and reinforce learning concepts and support academic goals and grade-level standards.
  • Monitor individual students and groups in classrooms, playgrounds, field trips, libraries, lunchrooms, and bus loading or unloading areas to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain instructional materials and manual and electronic files to ensure item availability and meet mandated requirements.
  • Administer minor first aid to meet immediate health care needs.
  • Mediate student conflicts to ensure a safe educational environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
