Requirements
  • BA/BS required/M.A./M.S. preferred plus 3-5 years
  • Requires an understanding of co-curricular program development and implementation, and experience working with, leading, and supervising students.
  • Prior experience working with large scale event planning and implementation with budget oversight.
  • Prior experience working with and advising student programming boards and student organizations.
  • Experience working with and supporting students from all backgrounds; experience developing training programs and managing student employees.
  • Experience with supervising full-time staff members.
  • Ability to multitask a must.
  • Must be able to manage decisions independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Must be able to negotiate with staff, faculty and students.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of traditions and signature events, including but not limited to: Welcome and Winter Weeks, Family Weekend, Senior Celebration events, and other signature programs.
  • Serves as the lead staff member for Family Weekend and Senior Celebration activities, including budget oversight, program development, marketing, implementation, and assessment; committee facilitation/participation; communication and registration; campus partner collaboration, donor relations, and event logistics.
  • Responsible for serving as the primary advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) including oversight of SpringFest and other signature events, attending regularly scheduled events, meetings, and providing training as needed.
  • Ensure CAB offerings complement and support departmental priorities including student engagement, fostering social connections, and traditions.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, professional development, and evaluation of full and part-time staff, graduate assistants, and undergraduate student staff.
  • Support strategic planning, development of leadership programs, and student advising. Manage related program budgets. Support departmental programs and events, and participate in divisional/university committees and initiatives and the work of making programs and services inclusive and accessible to all students.
