Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and comprehend English operational, process, safety, and quality instructions and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
  • At least five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment, with the ability to comprehend complex specifications, blueprints, and manuals.

  • Proficiency in the care and use of site-specific personal protective equipment, including respirators, gas detectors, and confined-space equipment.
  • Ability to efficiently maintain, install, and repair equipment or instrumentation used in the facility.
  • Ability to diagnose and respond to operational problems, troubleshoot mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment and instrumentation, and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring devices and testing equipment and the ability to perform assigned laboratory tests regardless of complexity.
  • Proficiency with computer programs for process control, a Computerized Maintenance Management System, and laboratory or industrial pretreatment quality assurance and quality control.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and assume additional or new responsibilities.
  • Availability to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call duty if required by the site.
  • Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Grade 1 Water Treatment license within six months.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Completion of employee orientation, departmental operating procedures, safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and quality training.
  • Ability to stand and walk for as many as three miles per shift, work on ladders and catwalks at heights of 20 feet, use hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds with arms extended, lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally or 60 pounds occasionally, enter confined spaces, and perform occasional stooping, bending, or kneeling.
Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals, and programmable logic control units according to process control procedures.
  • Monitor operating conditions, record observations and data in shift logs, diagnose basic operational problems, and take corrective action according to procedure.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to determine required repairs.
  • Estimate time and material costs for assigned projects.
  • Dismantle equipment, repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing devices, and reassemble and test equipment to restore safe and efficient operation.
  • Fabricate devices and assemblies from steel and perform welding, pipe threading, and soldering using gas and electric equipment when required.
  • Inspect flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures, and related controls; diagnose basic operational problems; and report suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor.
  • Collect water, wastewater, industrial waste, groundwater, sludge, residuals, and gas samples according to schedule.
  • Perform chemical, physical, and biological field tests to pace chemical dosages for process and odor control units.
  • Prepare chemical solutions, monitor supplies, and recommend reorders.
  • Perform laboratory tests and prepare reports according to procedure, analyzing parameters including pH, alkalinity, volatile acids, dissolved oxygen, organic material, residues, biochemical oxygen demand, coliform bacteria, nutrients, and chlorine residuals.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on laboratory and field equipment and instrumentation, including pH meters, specific ion meters, analytical balances, furnaces, incubators, ovens, titrators, autoclaves, calculators, and automatic samplers.
  • Change and clean probes, magnetic strips, floats, and instrumentation sensors.
  • Calibrate instruments, including resetting set points as assigned, and report equipment problems requiring warranty or outside work to the supervisor.
  • Perform facility maintenance and repair, including replacing or installing light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, and paint.
  • Clean equipment, facilities, and grounds; dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies; and operate vehicles, mobile equipment, and material-handling equipment for operational and maintenance purposes.
  • Assist with maintaining parts, spares, and maintenance inventory.
  • Assist in other plant areas as directed.
  • Orient or train new or less experienced maintenance personnel.
  • Work in an operations environment, including outdoor exposure and possible exposure to fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure, extreme temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards.

Veolia raises $1.3B in oversubscribed senior bond offering with $3.8B orders

Veolia posts 10.4% net income growth in H1 2026, raises full-year guidance to 8%

Veolia Environnement reported revenue of €22.93 billion for the first half of 2026, up 1.5% at constant scope and foreign exchange, excluding energy prices. The company's EBITDA reached €3.55 billion, rising 5% with margins improving by 70 basis points to 16%. Veolia launches $452M non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due 2032

Veolia Environnement has launched a €400 million offering of non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due January 2032. The bonds will be offered exclusively to qualified institutional investors through an accelerated bookbuilding process. The synthetic convertible bonds offer exposure to Veolia's share performance but will be cash-settled only, without issuing new shares. Enviri spins off New Enviri as standalone public company with $1.2B revenue after Clean Earth sale
