Requirements
  • A high school education or GED equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of experience in front-of-the-house operations within a restaurant, hotel, club, or similar environment is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts is required.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations is required.
  • Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations is required.
  • The ability to work safely and alertly is required.
  • The ability to take ownership of the associate’s safety and the residents’ safety is required.
  • The applicant must disclose any medication that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently.
  • The applicant must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition.
  • A Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to community residents visiting dining rooms and activities.
  • Remain aware of the physical appearance of dining rooms and waitress stations and watch for situations that might pose trip hazards for residents.
  • Maintain or exceed standards of appearance and cleanliness and maintain personal hygiene and health standards.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Provide a pleasant dining experience while following instructions to meet residents’ specific dietary needs when necessary.
  • Set up dining rooms properly while meeting or exceeding hospitality and service standards.
  • Obtain food and supplies for meal service as directed.
  • Distribute and store clean dishes.
  • Practice safe and sanitary food handling during food preparation, food holding, and service.
  • Assist in the preparation of foods as directed.
  • Perform cleaning duties in dining rooms, kitchens, serving areas, cafeterias, and storerooms as directed.
  • Mop floors in designated areas as directed by the supervisor.
  • Follow safety and loss-prevention procedures, universal precautions, and infection-control guidelines.
  • Perform other duties or fill in for other dining-room or wait staff as requested.
  • Attend required community meetings and participate in Life Enrichment activities when able.
  • Complete required courses in adherence with HRA University.
  • Perform the required duties on a regular and predictable basis.
  • Learn how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent.
  • Learn the steps for fire evacuation.
  • Help maintain a safe and secure environment for community residents.
