Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable solutions using modern architecture patterns (Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices)
  • Deep dive into Magento 2.x architecture, including module development, plugin systems, service contracts, and API layers
  • Apply SOLID principles, design patterns (Factory, Observer, Strategy, Repository, etc.), and clean architecture principles
  • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, tools, and frameworks that align with business objectives
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and system integration flows
  • Think outside the box to solve complex business problems with innovative technical approaches
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies for proposed solutions and feature enhancements
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on current systems
  • Design integration strategies between Magento and third-party systems (ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways)
  • Optimize performance, security, and scalability across the entire technology stack
  • Assign technical tasks to team members based on complexity, skill level, and project requirements
  • Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards, design patterns, and architectural principles
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the development team
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud deployment strategies
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
  • Serve as primary technical liaison between offshore development teams, onsite architects, and business stakeholders
  • Bridge communication gaps between distributed teams across different time zones
  • Coordinate with onsite architects to ensure alignment on technical decisions and architectural standards
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in clear, understandable terms
  • Actively listen to client requirements and translate them into technical specifications for distributed teams
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings with product managers, UX designers, QA teams, and business analysts across multiple locations
  • Present technical recommendations and architectural decisions to executive leadership and onsite stakeholders
  • Manage technical risks and communicate mitigation strategies to both offshore and onshore stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in architectural roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on Magento development and architecture experience
  • Experience with large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce implementations
  • Magento certifications (Developer, Solution Specialist, or Architect)
  • Cloud architecture certifications (AWS/Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with headless commerce and PWA implementations
  • Experience with distributed team leadership and offshore development coordination
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (PCI DSS, GDPR)
  • Experience with B2B commerce solutions and multi-tenant architectures
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration between offshore development teams and onsite business stakeholders
