Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA or equivalent credential
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in public accounting in taxation or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members
  • Ability to sign tax returns
Responsibilities
  • Perform technical review of corporate tax compliance engagement work papers and deliverables. Projects may include calculation and preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, quarterly estimates, vouchers, extension, and projections
  • Prepare and perform technical review of global income tax provisions
  • Provide consultation on business transactions, and the related tax implications, consequences and treatment
  • Collaborate with technical matter specialists, as needed
  • Review responses to and communicate with IRS and other regulatory and tax authorities' audits, notices and inquiries
  • Manage larger and complex engagements and workflow of multiple clients and related deliverables to minimize risk and surprises, maximize engagement economics including budgets and billing, meet internal and external deadlines
  • Lead people teams, mentor and identify assignment resource requirements and ensure the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific assignment roles
  • Technically train and develop less experienced individuals responsible for engagement management responsibilities, including managing budgets, scheduling and staffing, due date management and client relations
  • Review or conduct high level research of complex or emerging tax issues and prepare memorandums to support conclusions
  • Continually build on technical expertise in taxation by attending continuing professional education courses or utilizing other training resource and develop tax specialty or area of expertise
  • Keep current with tax law changes and provide updates and training to the firm’s tax practice members
  • Pursue new business development, extended tax service and cross sell for existing clients
