About the team

The Growth team at Semgrep is brand new, and is focused on building a self-serve growth engine by generating massive product and problem awareness. The team is highly outcome-focused, not activity-focused. This means that the outcome matters more than how much or how little we put in.

The Growth team will be focused on bottoms-up, PLG motions that appeal to developers and security engineers. These motions should be fun, interesting, and go viral. To that effect, the team will be utilizing a diversified strategy to increase the odds of winning. We will be building several small products or working on improving key areas within our main products. We will be testing which ones work and which do not. If we find something that works, we will double down and go all-in. If not, we will move on and try something new.

About the role

As the first Growth Engineer, you will be helping set the foundation for the nascent Growth team. For now, you will be reporting to the VP of Growth. You will thrive in this position if you are a growth-focused full stack engineer who is hungry and excited to make a difference. You would describe yourself as someone who moves fast, builds MVPs and is biased towards action. In this role, you will be building or working on products with NodeJS and Python, so full-stack expertise will be crucial. We have a slight preference for NodeJS since that will be most prevalent in the role.

You will need working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English. We work as a hybrid on-site / remote organization. r2c primarily works in the Pacific, Eastern, and Central EU time zones.
