Requirements
  • 5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
  • Ability to lead a team of individuals
  • High school diploma plus trades training and certification
  • Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes
  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner and maintain a high environmental, health and safety mindset
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
  • Excellent client-service orientation and effective communication skills
  • Oversight of routine, preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment
  • Experience coordinating and participating in facility-related projects and with a CMMS system for work orders
  • Ability to document work performed and maintain detailed records
  • Budget and expenditure management for maintenance activities
  • Experience collaborating with vendors and contractors for maintenance services
  • Ability to monitor and enforce compliance with maintenance processes and industry best practices
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and monitor the activities and performance of Technicians within assigned facility, ensuring activities are performed in accordance to established processes and requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Technicians in troubleshooting and repairs
  • Oversee the execution of maintenance tasks to maintain equipment and facilities in optimal condition as directed by the Facility Management Office
  • Coordinate and participate in facility-related projects
  • Respond to routine and on-demand service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and other systems
  • Ensure compliance with established maintenance processes and industry best practices
  • Maintain a strong presence at assigned facilities and foster positive client relationships
  • Perform facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical and other equipment system monitoring and inspection
  • Execute comprehensive technical inspections of building equipment and focus on critical systems impacting tenant operations
  • Oversee application of processes and practices to meet requirements and drive asset integrity
  • Oversee and monitor routine inspections and maintenance to meet uptime objectives and client operations
  • Provide observations and recommendations for facility improvements in partnership with Asset Management Team and Facility Management Office
  • Implement and monitor inspection checklists and schedules
  • Assist in enhancing occupant satisfaction and address tenant concerns professionally
  • Coordinate and assist in implementing preventative maintenance program and escalate deficiencies
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and management regarding maintenance activities and challenges
  • Escalate issues to Facility Management and CMMS team for rapid resolution
  • Oversee work order management, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Assign, prioritize and monitor work progress in partnership with Central Work Order Management Team
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of work and adherence to procedures
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous people leadership experience, preferred
  • Refrigeration/Electrical/Plumbing licenses considered an asset
  • Power Engineering 3rd Class or 4th Class license considered an asset
  • Building Operator Certification considered an asset
  • Gasfitter I or II considered an asset
  • Systems Maintenance Administration Certification considered an asset
