Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of experience in network operations or system administration
  • Experience working with standard networking protocols, stacks, services, and concepts
  • Ability to take on projects that require taking initiative and developing new expertise
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
  • Experience with debugging complex systems with data analysis
  • Experience creating documentation and procedures
  • Experience in mission-critical operations where outstanding attention to detail is required to ensure success
  • Current associate level networking certification (JNCIA, CCNA or equivalent)
  • Development experience in Python, Bash, SQL or other scripting languages
  • Must be available for on-shift rotations
  • This position requires working 7 PM - 7 AM; 3 days on, 4 days off; then 4 days on, 3 days off
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Responsibilities
  • Detect and triage emerging anomalies on satellites, ground stations, terrestrial networking hardware, and core Starlink algorithms
  • Provide support for high value enterprise clients along with individual customer escalations
  • Provide centralized awareness and management of routine and emergency maintenance performed by SpaceX personnel and partner contractors
  • Measure, preserve, and improve the uptime and performance of the Starlink network
  • Closely collaborate across engineering disciplines to create highly operable and maintainable infrastructure
  • Follow and improve processes used for managing the Starlink network
