Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgical practice setting.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
Responsibilities
  • Observe patients' conditions, report abnormal conditions to staff nurses, and document appropriately in patient records.
  • Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
  • Draw blood, perform finger sticks, and obtain other specimens as requested by physicians or registered nurses.
  • Perform electrocardiograms.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles to create and maintain a sterile field.
  • Apply technical skills related to positioning, wound care, and dressings.
  • Maintain stock items for examination and phlebotomy rooms and forms used by clinical staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from a state- and/or nationally accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
