Requirements
  • State certification, licensure, or accreditation by a professional trade organization is required; if the candidate is not state certified, practical experience in the subject or trade area is required.
  • Ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives.
  • Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior, work habits, and study habits in adolescent students.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping techniques and management.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
Responsibilities
  • Present instruction in a regular classroom setting within the designated subject area.
  • Promote a positive and desirable classroom atmosphere to maximize student motivation.
  • Maintain classroom discipline to support student learning.
  • Establish effective rapport with students.
  • Use available curriculum resources.
  • Prepare the classroom adequately.
  • Maintain student personnel folders.
  • Record and forward daily attendance to the Student Records area.
  • Assist with completing necessary Job Corps forms.
  • Maintain classroom security measures, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness.
  • Complete accurate class attendance records.
  • Conduct and participate in monthly employer networking and placement outreach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
