Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • One year of work experience in a related field
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in administrative office procedures, including the use of standard office software
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check
  • Must possess an appreciation for and support of the mission of The Salvation Army
Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and greet those who enter the Corps, providing information and screening to determine which staff person or program they will need to be directed
  • Schedule Appointments for those needing assistance (Emergency Food, Legal Clinic, Pastoral Care)
  • Maintain an active database of Client Referral
  • Assist clients with referral information to available City programs (ie: Utility, Rental Assistance, Adult Rehabilitation Centers)
  • Maintain Corps Daily Visitation
  • Assist applicants with completing forms (Client Intake for emergency food, Holiday Assistance)
  • Assist the Corps Officers with The Salvation Army's camping ministry, including recruitment, parent contact, chaperoning, database management, and fee collection
  • Compile/Maintain client information and input statistics in both Service Point and the National Social Services System
  • Give oversight to the Emergency Food Pantry (ordering food as assigned, stocking shelves, maintaining orderliness/cleanliness)
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training and workshops assigned
  • Be knowledgeable of Salvation Army Corps
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
  • Perform related duties as assigned
