Requirements
  • A college degree.
  • Background in senior living in nursing, recreational or therapeutic programs, social work, human services, gerontology, or a similar field.
  • Management leadership experience.
  • At least one year of experience working in a dementia unit.
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • Understanding of the aging process and the skills required to communicate effectively with seniors.
  • Experience in the health, human services, or community services field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with consistent and regular attendance.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and manage personnel.
  • Knowledge of current state regulations and Nurse Practice Acts, including regulatory processes involving the state, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to relate to people with varied personalities.
  • Initiative, judgment, delegation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ADP, Electronic Health Records, and Concur, plus the ability to learn related software.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Enliven memory care program and share responsibility for the community's success through management of the department's daily operations.
  • Direct and coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Enliven program and budget.
  • Complete resident assessments and develop care plans addressing resident needs and services.
  • Serve as a liaison among healthcare providers, hospital personnel, community organizations, and other health-related services supporting residents.
  • Reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries while coordinating with the Executive Director and Human Resources business partner on hiring, staff evaluations, merit increases, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Share responsibility for resident services with team members and participate in departmental and community meetings and projects.
  • Promote the person-centered Enliven dementia program based on the Five Guiding Principles: Partnership, Relationships, Movement, Innovation, and Self-Expression.
  • Work with the Director of Assisted Living to oversee care for Enliven residents.
  • Work with the sales team on pre-move-in resident assessments to identify potential residents' needs.
  • Develop and update resident service plans using person-centered approaches and interventions to determine care levels.
  • Maintain communication with responsible parties regarding resident needs and foster positive family relationships.
  • Facilitate resident assessment and service plan meetings with the Executive Director.
  • Coordinate care with responsible parties or powers of attorney, healthcare providers, pharmacists, and medical personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office to review level-of-care charges and ensure continuity between service plans and billing.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and performance standards and monitor key performance indicators for daily Enliven operations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and supervise Enliven staff.
  • Participate in new-staff orientation and complete assigned training.
  • Supervise medication administration or assistance with self-administration as permitted by state law.
  • Supervise the storage, distribution, and discontinuation of residents' medication as permitted by state law.
  • Review and complete incident reports and conduct investigations as needed.
  • Support and participate in resident-centered wellness and activities programs.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting-body standards.
  • Train staff on the operation of delayed-egress systems, alarms, and security systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
