A Day in the Life
The Electrical Engineer for Medtronic NEUROMODULATION/PELVIC HEALTH RPE will be responsible for device electrical hardware design for market released implantable Neurostimulation devices and instruments. In this position, the candidate will be involved in all aspects of patient care device electronics used as part of a system to treat neurological disorders. The ideal candidate will have familiarity of low power electronics design, strong circuit analysis skills, test requirement specification development, and an understanding of test development. Application of Six Sigma development methods, such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Concept Engineering (Pugh, AHP), Robust Characterization (P-Diagram), and Capability Analysis is a plus. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional partners such as reliability, regulatory, operations, and sourcing colleagues to evaluate and implement design changes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Circuit level design and analysis to evaluate circuit function. Identify and qualify alternate electronic components to existing design through design analysis, characterization testing and design verification testing.
- Owns product changes and change control related activities, such as conducting change impact analysis, initiating change activity (CO/CA) to modify maintain design documentation (BOM’s, Specs, drawings) etc.
- Supports IQ/OQ/PQ, DOE’s, SPC, Gauge R&R, Sampling methodologies, Data Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Modeling/Predictive Analyses, Capability Studies (CpK) and Component Qualifications
- Provides problem solving/trouble shooting support to manufacturing sites and key suppliers to increase yields, maintain process capability, and improve efficiency and cost.
- Supports cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
- Work with field returned products, conduct engineering analysis, and perform testing to determine root cause for failure.
- Supports CAPA’s (Corrective & Preventive Actions) and issue escalation including possible CAPA ownership.
- Collaborates with reliability and manufacturing personnel to determine and execute appropriate tests/assessments to evaluate supplier, process, material, design, or component changes prior to implementation.
- Assists Regulatory Specialists by providing design & clinical use data and rationale to support worldwide regulatory submissions and certification renewals.
- Supports internal and external regulatory compliance audits.
- Actively participates in new product development to RPE transfers; ensures completion of all transfer deliverables.
- Interact with personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
- Experience with laboratory instruments and tools (e.g. DMM, oscilloscope, data acquisition and control, logic analyzer)

Nice to Have:
- MS in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with schematic design and layout using CAD tools for PCB design
- Ability to work in a team environment; strong collaboration skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated skills in writing engineering documents (specifications, test plans, etc)
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$101,600.00 - $152,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
