Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, preferably Ubuntu, including basic command-line use and system navigation.
  • Understanding of core networking principles including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and DHCP.

Responsibilities
  • Support post-sale technical onboarding, including sensor integration, network configuration, and software development kit and application programming interface setup, with guidance from senior engineers on complex setups.
  • Help validate customer system architecture and sensor configurations against standard reference setups.
  • Field and triage inbound technical support requests, distinguish common hardware, firmware, networking, and software issues, and escalate novel or complex cases to senior engineers.
  • Review sensor diagnostic logs and basic network captures, such as Wireshark captures, to identify likely issue sources.
  • Use command-line interfaces and diagnostic software to troubleshoot sensor connectivity and data-streaming issues involving TCP and UDP on Linux and Windows.
  • Help replicate customer environments and issues in the lab under the direction of senior team members.
  • Author clear bug reports in a ticketing system such as Jira, including logs, reproducible steps, and initial observations, when escalating unresolved issues.
  • Research documented solutions using technical documentation, schematics, and internal knowledge bases.
  • Help customers apply documented best practices for sensor parameters such as resolution and rotation rate, as well as basic network settings.
  • Contribute to and help maintain application notes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Support customers via email and, as confidence develops, live video and phone troubleshooting calls.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for lower-severity support coverage as skills develop.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to VLANs or Precision Time Protocol (IEEE 1588).
  • Some experience with Python for basic scripting or log review through coursework, personal projects, or professional work.
  • Exposure to Robot Operating System or Robot Operating System 2, or tools such as RViz.
  • Analytical, resourceful problem-solving approach and eagerness to learn technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers and teammates.

Ouster has partnered with GeoCue to integrate its Rev8 OS1 Max digital lidar into GeoCue's TrueView drone mapping payloads. The collaboration combines GeoCue's TrueView 1 payloads and LP360 software with Ouster's lidar technology to deliver survey-grade data for utility and infrastructure industries. The Rev8 OS1 Max is Build America, Buy America Act–compliant, providing customers with domestic production requirements a high-performance solution. The sensor offers superior precision for resolving thin objects like power lines, expanded operational range of 200 metres at 10% reflectivity, and native colour integration alongside 3D lidar data. GeoCue is expanding its TrueView lineup to include options featuring the Ouster sensor following joint flight testing in Huntsville, Alabama. The partnership aims to support critical infrastructure monitoring and large-scale mapping projects.

Building on Ouster's recent momentum in industrial robotics, GUSS is embedding Ouster and other enterprise-grade capabilities into agricultural duty cycles. Ouster's LiDAR shipments jump 70% Y/Y in Q2 as production expands to 100K units annually

Ouster shipped 70% more LiDAR units year-over-year in Q2 2026, driven by adoption of its Rev8 sensor — the world's first native colour LiDAR. The company secured multiple orders exceeding $1 million, including from a heavy machinery manufacturer, an autonomous agriculture developer, and an autonomous vehicle provider. Ouster also won a contract with Utah's Department of Transportation for its largest deployment, covering several hundred intersections. The company is expanding production capacity from 40,000 units annually towards 100,000 units to meet rising demand. Competitors are also gaining traction. Aeva continued deliveries to a European passenger OEM, whilst Innoviz secured approximately $3.5 million in defence orders in July.
