Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Opto-electronics, or Optical Engineering is required.
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in a related role is required, with up to 5 years stated for the target experience range.
  • Hands-on experience in fiber optic connectivity is essential.
  • Experience with fiber optic connectors such as MPO and LC, cable assemblies, optical testing, optical measurements, optical packaging, and ferrule alignment is required.
  • Knowledge of optical communication transceivers, high-speed optical links, micro-optics or lens design fundamentals, and industry standards including IEC, TIA, and Telcordia is required.
  • Experience using MATLAB or Python for engineering analysis is required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
  • Develop fiber optic connectivity solutions, including connectors, cable assemblies, and high-density interconnect systems.
  • Lead products through the full development lifecycle from concept and prototyping through testing and manufacturing release.
  • Execute product validation, qualification, and reliability testing for datacenter applications.
  • Research emerging technologies and apply innovative solutions to advance products.
  • Partner with application engineering teams to understand customer environments, deployment challenges, and real-world use cases.
  • Create technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, validation reports, and application notes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Application experience in fiber optic connectivity for datacenter environments is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees are a strong plus.
  • Experience with product design in three-dimensional computer-aided design is preferred.

Panduit launches ES2P managed rack PDU for AI-driven data centre growth. Panduit has launched the ES2P managed rack PDU, offering Gigabit Ethernet daisy-chaining, hot-swappable components and enhanced security to help data centres and edge sites manage growing power demands from AI and cloud workloads. Panduit has announced the ES2P Power Distribution Unit, a managed rack PDU designed for data centres, edge deployments, enterprise closets and technology refresh projects. The company says ES2P is intended to help organisations modernise rack power distribution as demand from AI, cloud services and distributed IT increases. In managed and monitored configurations, the unit is designed to provide power visibility and control intended to support critical systems, energy utilisation and uptime. Connectivity and reliability features. ES2P includes Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and supports daisy chaining of up to 16 units, which Panduit says can simplify IP address management and reduce networking costs as rack deployments expand, particularly in edge and distributed environments. The unit is rated for operation in ambient temperatures up to 55°C and offers metering accuracy of +/-2%. It includes a hot-swappable controller and display, which Panduit says allows maintenance or replacement without powering down the rack. Security. ES2P supports SNMPv3, TLS, HTTPS and SSH protocols, and includes role-based access controls and encrypted firmware updates. According to Panduit, the platform aligns with industry security scans. Installation and management. The PDU features tool-less mounting hardware and 18.4 mm mounting buttons for installation in Panduit and third-party cabinets, and is available in 0U and 1U form factors. It includes a manually rotatable LCD display. ES2P can be managed remotely through Panduit tools and third-party DCIM platforms via SNMP, with compatibility stated for SiteCommand and Cisco Nexus Dashboard environments. Applications. Panduit lists potential applications for ES2P including healthcare facilities, education campuses, financial institutions, industrial IT environments, branch IT closets, small and mid-sized enterprise data centres, and rack refresh or expansion projects. Warranty. ES2P comes with a three-year standard warranty, with two additional years available through product registration, for a total registered warranty of five years, according to Panduit.

Panduit launches Gen 2 Fault Managed Power System with 2kW capacity for safer enterprise infrastructure

Panduit has launched its Fault Managed Power System Gen 2, a power distribution platform designed for enterprise environments. The system uses UL 1400 listed, SIL 3 rated Class 4 Limited Energy technology to deliver high power over long distances whilst eliminating electrical hazards. FMPS Gen 2 increases power density and enables centralised UPS consolidation, removing distributed backup power from intermediate distribution frames. The portfolio includes a new 2 kW system and a 600 W single-channel receiver for edge applications. The system is backward compatible with existing FMPS deployments, allowing upgrades without replacement costs. The platform supports enterprise switching, security, wireless systems, lighting and smart building applications whilst using less copper than traditional power distribution.
