Requirements
  • Associates degree and completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent.
  • ASCP certified HT/HTL
Responsibilities
  • Perform histological preparations for the tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with little to no errors
  • Preparation of tissues, stained slides, microdissection, and supporting workflow tasks
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Recognize and escalate equipment or LIS malfunctions, troubleshoot common errors
  • Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations to lab management
  • Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition
  • Communicate with team and other departments
  • Provide feedback on workflow to lab management and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Assist teammates in completing daily tasks
  • Adhere to departmental procedures
