We are seeking a highly-motivated Hardware Engineering Technician to join our team in Menlo Park, CA. This person would be mainly supporting the electrical needs of a multi-team system HW organization but also be involved in assembling, testing and troubleshooting all hardware.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to build and improve custom electrical test fixtures and equipment
- Supporting rework and troubleshooting of PCB issues
- Using schematics to create custom cables
- Generating reports and documenting all activities for future replication
- Giving a helping had around the lab whenever it is needed
You’ll bring:
- Must-Haves:
- Associate degree or higher in Science or Engineering
- 2+ years hands-on experience building/wiring up various hardware
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- Experience in electronic rework, assembling cable harnesses, test fixtures and jigs
- Ability to identify root-causes and conduct troubleshooting to solve process issues
- Experience with test design and setup, data acquisition and analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and data entry skills
- Proven record working within a team and team-oriented attitude
- Bonus Points:
- Exposure to a variety of consumer electronics, mechanical systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment
- Ability to use basic shop tools (drill press, band saw, etc…)
- Experience with cable management and wire routing
